Very Short History Lesson About Your Social Security Card

In the event that some of you youth and some older youth do not know this. It's very easy to check out, don't take my word for it. But check it out and show it to your family and friends. They need a little history lesson on what's what and it doesn't matter at all whether you are Democrat or Republican. Social Security facts are facts.

Until the 1980s, Social Security Cards stated ON THE CARD ITSELF that the number and card were not to be used for identification purposes. Since nearly everyone in the United States presently has a number, it became convenient to use it despite the "Do Not Use for ID" so and the message, NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION, was taken off.

Our Social Security: Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security (FICA) Program. FDR promised:

1) That participation in the Program would be Totally voluntary,
No longer Voluntary...YOU GOTTA PAY.

2) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual Incomes into the Program,
Now 7.65% on the first $90,000 ...YOU GOTTA PAY.


3) That the money the participants elected to pay into the Program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each year,
No longer tax deductible ...YOU GOTTA PAY.


4) That the money the participants pay into the independent 'Trust Fund' or Al Gore's "Lock Box" rather than into the general operating fund, and therefore, would only be used or earmarked to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other Government program, and THEN under Johnson the money was moved to The General Fund and Spent.



5) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income.
Under Clinton & Gore Up to 85% of your Social Security can be Taxed.

Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now receiving a Social Security check every month, and then discovering that we are getting taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the Federal government to 'put away'...you may be interested in the following:

Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the independent 'Trust Fund' and put it into the general fund so that Congress could spend it?
A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically controlled House and Senate in 1969, renaming it "unified budget." As an accounting gimmick, the placed it off-budget in 1990.
SSA site says...There has never been any change? in the way the Social Security program is financed (ONLY 1% of first $1400 into 7.65% of first $90,000, which employers now MATCH making fewer raises.) or the way that Social Security payroll taxes are used by the federal government. You may personally know immigrants who, being over 65 for waiting in line for 20 years, receive SS checks, assisted housing,etc. AND never paid a nickel or held a US job!

A: The Democratic Party.

Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social Security annuities?
A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the 'tie-breaking' deciding vote as President of the Senate, while he was Bill Clinton's Vice President of the US.
In 1984, knocking on YOUR DOOR, the basic rule put in place was that up to 50% of Social Security benefits could be added to taxable income, if the taxpayer's total income exceeded certain thresholds. Now they can take 2/3rds of all income over $3000 as TAX beyond your SS check. Then under Bill Clinton in 1993, legislation was enacted which had the effect of increasing the tax put in place under the 1983 law. It raised from 50% to 85% if YOU QUALIFIED, nevermind the 2/3rds. Q: Which Political Party decided to start giving annuity payments to immigrants? AND MY FAVORITE:
A: That's right!
Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party. Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65, began to receive Social Security payments! The Democratic Party gave these payments to them, even though they never paid a dime into it! This is why when you visit your local SS office it is full of India people and other immigrants in front of you, who have not paid anything in but are taking free money OUT!
The immigrants still SIGN UP at the Social Security office without paying in a thin dime, but it is called the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program. A rose being called a petunia is STILL a rose!

Then, after violating the original contract (FICA) in MANY WAYS, the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away! You can easily check any facts you don't know already. You need not take this blogger's word for it...
